Organised by Pok Oi Hospital and title sponsored by Shanghai Commercial Bank, the “Shanghai Commercial．Pok Oi Cycle for Millions 2024” will take place on 17 March 2024 (Sunday) at the Stonecutters Bridge. The 2024 edition will feature a brand-new theme collaborating with the well-loved character Miffy, hoping to invite more people to join in the fun at the largest charity cycling event in the city. At the press conference held today (18 January), Miffy appeared amidst the cheers of the crowd to kick off the event with officiating guests, encouraging more people to support this family-friendly event for raising funds for Pok Oi Hospital’s Social Services, as well as promoting cycling safety and low carbon living.

Celebrities join forces with Miffy to encourage people from all walks of life to support charity and environmental sustainability.
The “Shanghai Commercial．Pok Oi Cycle for Millions,” now in its twelfth year, is a highly anticipated event in the city, has attracted over 60,000 participants since 2019. Pok Oi Hospital is once again privileged to have the strong support of Shanghai Commercial Bank, a longstanding advocate for community care, as the title sponsor. Building on last year’s successful comeback, “Shanghai Commercial．Pok Oi Cycle for Millions 2024” aims to continue its achievements by partnering with the beloved character Miffy and inviting celebrities from various fields to support this meaningful event. Officiating at the press conference were Dr Chan Shou-ming, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pok Oi Hospital; Mr David Kwok Sek-chi, Deputy Chairman, Managing Director & Chief Executive of Shanghai Commercial Bank; local singer Mr Wan Kwong, three-time Asian Games cycling champion Mr Wong Kam-Po, SBS, MH together with former Olympic swimmer/artist Mr Alex Fong and yoga instructor Ms Coffee Lam as “Event Caring Ambassadors”. Former Asian Games cycling medalist Ms Vivian Ma will also return as one of the “Star Riders”, alongside with current Hong Kong cycling representatives Ms Boey Leung and Ms Chloe Leung.
In his welcome speech, Dr Chan Shou-ming, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pok Oi Hospital expressed his excitement towards this year’s largest charity event of the year, “It’s our honour to have Shanghai Commercial Bank sponsoring the charity-sport event for seven consecutive years. We hope that ’Shanghai Commercial．Pok Oi Cycle for Millions 2024’ can gather a record-breaking number of participants this year, with more than 6,000 enthusiasts enjoying the ride together.”

The four Event Caring Ambassadors – Wan Kwong, Wong Kam-po, Alex Fong, Coffee Lam – biked together on stage to further promote active and healthy lifestyle, and successfully raised the first donation of the event in total of HK$ $200,000.

Riding on the route’s previous success and popularity, the “Shanghai Commercial．Pok Oi Cycle for Millions 2024” will once again follow the same path, starting from Tsing Sha Highway, crossing Stonecutters Bridge, and continuing through Nam Wan Tunnel. This approximately 13km route offers an excellent opportunity for families and friends to relish the captivating vistas of Stonecutters Bridge, Rambler Channel, the majestic city skyline, and the picturesque scenery along Victoria Harbour. The “Shanghai Commercial．Pok Oi Cycle for Millions 2024” is now open for registration for all citizens aged 6 or above. On the event day, there will be a fun-filled carnival held at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi). Apart from the awards ceremony, there will also be a number of special performances, game booths, charity bazaars, product trials and gift distributions, which are not to be missed!
