<p style="margin-bottom: unset;" align="justify">Smoking Cessation Program held a health talk, &#8220;Let&#8217;s Explore the Harms of Smoking and the Benefits of Quitting Smoking,&#8221; on July 3, 2025, at Bethel High School. The talk addressed the harmful effects of smoking and the benefits of quitting smoking, promoting health awareness among teachers and students.</p>

<p style="margin-bottom: unset;" align="justify">The importance of quitting smoking and various methods of quitting, including nicotine replacement therapy, were emphasized in the talk. Through detailed explanations and Q&#038;A sessions, students gained a deeper understanding of the health effects of various tobacco products, including traditional cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and hookahs.</p>

<p style="margin-bottom: unset;" align="justify">元朗地區康健中心（中心）致力於配合醫務衞生局基層醫療署的《基層醫療健康藍圖》，提供健康教育和評估，鼓勵市民關注慢性疾病風險，學習健康自我管理，以提升身體機能和健康狀況，積極推廣健康生活方式。</p>

<p style="margin-bottom: unset;" align="justify">中心各持份者對於推廣健康生活模式不遺餘力，而中心的義工團隊更於中心基層醫療服務推廣服務中擔任重要角色。因此，中心特別於2025年8月23日舉行「義不容詞」的基層醫療資源交流會，向更多會員及市民介紹中心的義工服務。所謂的「義不容詞」，取其諧音，泛指義工對於中心推廣基層醫療服務的貢獻非一般言語可以形容。</p>

<p style="margin-bottom: unset;" align="justify">自2022年12月起，中心舉辦了多次義工訓練計劃，目前已成功為中心招募145名義工，參與中心不同的基層醫療服務推廣。義工均為中心會員，而接受訓練後的義工們，可協助介紹中心服務，亦可以用第一身經驗分享對中心服務的體驗及個人健康的改善情況，招募更多新會員加入健康人生行列。部份義工更會參與中心外展服務，跟隨中心職員到不同地方擺設健康推廣攤位，帶隊參觀中心及社區藥房等。</p>

<p style="margin-bottom: unset;" align="justify">過去一年，義工們協助中心舉辦超過2000場外展活動，向區內市民推廣基層醫療服務的「慢性疾病共同治理先導計劃」，並介紹多元化的健康醫療資訊。為表揚義工的傑出表現，中心亦藉是次交流會舉辦優秀義工頒獎禮，感謝義工們過去一年的支持與付出。同場邀請義工分享於社區鼓勵市民參與基層醫療服務的點滴並與參加者進行交流。</p>

<p style="margin-bottom: unset;" align="justify">同時，為了鼓勵會員嘗試不同類型的義工活動，中心藉是次交流會隆重介紹義不容「詞」義工獎賞計劃，希望中心會員帶同更多親朋好友支持中心服務，攜手推廣基層醫療服務發展。</p>

<p style="margin-bottom: unset;" align="justify">The fourth dental clinic – Pok Oi Hospital Jockey Club Primary Dental Care Clinic – commenced services on 1 August 2025 as part of our commitment to serving the community.</p>

<p style="margin-bottom: unset;" align="justify">In line with the government’s &#8220;prevention-oriented &#8221; policy, our clinic is participating in the &#8220;Jockey Club Dental Care Programme&#8221;, funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, to provide subsidized dental services for economically disadvantaged individuals. <p style="margin-bottom: unset;" align="justify">適逢2025年6月15日父親節，元朗地區康健中心（中心）於天水圍主中心舉辦了「健康男途」基層醫療資源交流會及全力以「父」運動日活動。中心邀請區內市民一同參與，旨在透過交流會向會員推廣中心服務，同時透過器械體驗班及阻力帶增肌班，推廣男士健康，鼓勵男士參與運動以增進整體健康。交流會結合講座與運動，創造友善、互動性高的健康交流空間，營造男士健康關懷氛圍，降低就醫與諮詢的心理障礙。此外，中心藉父親節的契機，舉辦不同的親子活動，透過運動強化父親與孩子之關係，加深親子連繫，讓家庭共享健康與快樂的時光。</p>

<p style="margin-bottom: unset;" align="justify">Pok Oi Hospital held a kick-off ceremony for &#8220;Quit in June” on 13 June 2025 in alignment with the global promotion of World No Tobacco Day 2025, advocating for a smoke-free lifestyle. Chairman of the Hospital Governing Committee, Ms. Huang Xiao-jun, Acting hospital Chief Executive, Dr. Terry Lau Chu Leung, and several guests visited our Smoking Cessation Program registration kiosks, located at the Accident and Emergency Department of Pok Oi Hospital.</p>

Pok Oi Hospital launches &#8220;Quit in June&#8221; Kick-off Ceremony

<p style="margin-bottom: unset;" align="justify">Pok Oi Hospital Smoking Cessation Program was invited by the Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health (COSH) to set up a game booth at the kick-off ceremony cum carnival for World No Tobacco Day 2025 alongside Smoke-free Sportswear Day held at the Atrium of Domain Mall in Yau Tong on May 30 and 31, 2025. The event aimed to raise public awareness of the dangers of smoking, promote a smoke-free lifestyle, and encourage smokers to embark on their journey to quit smoking.</p>

<p style="margin-bottom: unset;" align="justify">The Tuen Mun District Health Centre invited the Pok Oi Hospital Smoking Cessation Program (SCP) to set up a &#8220;Smoke-free Life&#8221; booth game at the &#8220;Spring Festival &#8211; A Promise of Health&#8221; event on March 22, which aimed to promote smoke-free living and smoking cessation knowledge.</p>

<p style="margin-bottom: unset;" align="justify">Participants actively participated in the puzzle game. The atmosphere was vibrant. Through the game, participants not only increased their awareness of harmful effects of smoking but also learnt about the benefits of quit smoking. Nurses also conducted carbon monoxide breath tests for smokers and provided professional advices to encourage them to quit smoking as soon as possible.</p>
