“New Smoke-Free Journey” Smoking Cessation Counselling Service – In Service Since April 1st

 

Starting from April 1st, 2023, Pok Oi Hospital has set up three “New Smoke-Free Journey” smoking cessation counselling service centres, located at One Sky Mall in Tin Shui Wai, Leung King Estate Community Centre in Tuen Mun, and Ping Shek Estate Lam Shek House respectively. The centres provide one-stop smoking cessation services, and nurses will:

• Counsel smokers and explain smoking cessation information

• Understand the reasons for their smoking

• Educate them on the harmful effects of smoking and the benefits of quitting

• Encourage them to develop a quit smoking plan

• Support and teach them ways to cope with withdrawal symptoms
