  • School Introduction and Educational Philosophy

Established in 1990, the Pok Oi Hospital Chan Kai Memorial School embraces the motto of “Erudition and Virtue” and cultivation of “love, care and serve”. Our school supports professional leadership and teaching, with a focus on promoting the holistic development of our students.

  • School-based Design and Specialized Curriculum

We implement small class teaching to enhance interaction between teachers and students, as well as to improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning. We emphasize student self-study, lesson preparation, and cooperative group learning to cultivate proper self-learning attitudes and habits.

In collaboration with McGill University, Canada, we have implemented the “English Teaching Partnership Program”. From February to April each year, foreign English teachers are arranged to intern at our school, creating an English-speaking environment to enhance students’ English proficiency.

For certain classes in Forms 1 and 2, Chinese language lessons are conducted in Mandarin to further consolidate and enhance students’ language learning abilities during their junior secondary years.

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education (STEM)

Our school is dedicated to the development of STEM education. In Form 1, we implement the “Edmodo Student AR Online Experience Course”, while in Form 2, we introduce interdisciplinary project-based learning through the “Construction of an Intelligent Greenhouse Model”. In extracurricular activities, in addition to offering STEM training courses, we also encourage students to actively participate in various competitions, including the “Elderly Technology Shows Love 2019” and the “iSTEM Science and Technology Innovation Program – Hong Kong STEM Starter Competition”, among others.

  • Diverse Student Activities

Our school’s boys’ choir achieved third place in the Secondary School Choir category at the 8th Hong Kong International Music Festival, bringing honor to Hong Kong. In the field of sports, our students won the overall championship in the boys’ team and the overall runner-up in the girls’ team at the 2022/23 Sha Tin and Sai Kung Inter-school Athletics Competition. Additionally, our boys’ basketball team won the championship in the 2022/23 Sha Tin and Sai Kung Inter-school D1 Basketball Competition.

  • Green and Eco-friendly Campus

Our school has been honored with the “17th Green School Gold Award”, the “17th Hong Kong Environmental Excellence Award – School (Secondary) Gold Award”, and the “Hong Kong Outstanding Brand Awards – CSR Hong Kong Outstanding Green School Award 2019”. Since the 2018-19 academic year, our school has been certified as a “Hong Kong Green Organization” by the Hong Kong Productivity Council for a period of three years.
