After a three-year hiatus, the city’s most anticipated charity bike event, the “Shanghai Commercial Bank · Pok Oi Cycle for Millions 2023,” will once again land on Stonecutters’ Bridge on Sunday, April 16, 2023! For the first time, members of the Sanrio family, including Bad Badtz-Maru (XO), Kerokerokeroppi, Pompompurin, Pochacco, and Ahirunopekkle will join the event to race against the wind with fellow participants.

Together with Shanghai Commercial Bank, Pok Oi Hospital is pleased to host the “Shanghai Commercial Bank · Pok Oi Cycle for Millions 2023.” The event will be led by ambassador Richie Jen, who will join fellow Hong Kongers in breaking through the gloom of the pandemic and embracing new challenges with a positive attitude. This event has invited two “Stars with Love,” Mr. Wong Kam-po, also known as the “God of Cycling Racing in Asia,” and the “Little Flying Fish” Mr. Alex Fong. In addition, three Hong Kong athletes, including former figure skater Ms. Maisy Ma, former track cyclist Ms. Ma Wing-yu, and badminton player Angus Ng Ka-long, will serve as “Star Riders,” encouraging more young people to get involved in charitable activities. Registration is open from now until March 8th. The funds raised will be used to build the largest nursing care home in Hong Kong, the “Pok Oi Hospital Tuen Mun Lam Tei Care & Attention Home.”
The renowned “Shanghai Commercial Bank · Pok Oi Cycle for Millions 2023” is back, and for the first time, members of the Sanrio family will participate to inspire everyone to unleash their athletic potential.
The “Shanghai Commercial Bank · Pok Oi Cycle for Millions 2023” has been held for a decade and has been welcomed by people of all ages and genders. Over the years, the total number of participants has exceeded 50,000, raising nearly HK$ 60 million for Pok Oi Hospital. Since 2020, due to the pandemic, the “Pok Oi Cycle for Millions” has transformed into an online cycling event, allowing participants to overcome the limitations of time and space, as well as continue to maintain their exercise habits and positive energy during the pandemic. The event has received wide acclaim.
As the pandemic situation gradually stabilises, “Shanghai Commercial Bank · Pok Oi Cycle for Millions 2023” will once again take place along the classic route of Stonecutters’ Bridge. This year’s event will be led by popular Sanrio family members, including Bad Badtz-Maru, Kerokerokeroppi, Pompompurin, Pochacco, and Ahirunopekkle, who will call on all bicycle enthusiasts, fans, and zealous individuals to join them in cycling. Whether you prefer cycling in groups like Pompompurin, or going at full speed like Bad Badtz-Maru, or simply enjoying the ride like Kerokerokeroppi, this time, you can witness the return of the “Shanghai Commercial Bank · Pok Oi Cycle for Millions 2023” cycling event in person!
“Shanghai Commercial Bank · Pok Oi Cycle for Millions 2023” will continue to adopt the popular route from previous years: starting from Tsing Sha Highway to Stonecutters’ Bridge, passing through Nam Wan Tunnel, for a total distance of approximately 13 kilometres. Along the way, participants can enjoy the beautiful views of Stonecutters’ Bridge, Rambler Channel, and Victoria Harbour. The event is now open for registration until March 8, 2023, and all participants over the age of 6 are welcome to join either as individuals or as part of a company or group (see details in the table below). On the day of the event, a bicycle and healthy living carnival will also be held at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi). To support the efforts of all participating cyclists, limited-edition athlete’s kits will be given to all participants, which include a Sanrio-themed cycling jersey and a limited-edition sports towel. If registration is completed before February 19th, a limited-edition Japanese bento bag will also be gifted.
