POH Smoking Cessation Program held a health talk” Smoke-Free Construction Sites, Healthy Workforce ” at Yuen Long Tam Mi Construction Sector Imported Labour Quarters

Pok Oi Hospital Smoking Cessation Program was invited by Tobacco and Alcohol Control Office, Department of Health, to conduct a health talk titled “Smoke-Free Construction Sites, Healthy Workforce” at Construction Sector Imported Labour Quarters, Tam Mi, Yuen Long on 17 April 2026. This talk attracted a large number of participants, with over 140 workers attending.

The talk aimed to educate imported construction workers on the harms of smoking and various smoking cessation methods, including Nicotine Replacement Therapy, in order to raise their smoke-free awareness.

The talk also introduced the service of Smoking Cessation Program, the participants actively asked questions regarding eligibility and follow-up arrangements, and the nurse provided detailed responses, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of the service.
