Pok Oi Hospital’s Emergency Assistance Fund Provides Swift Support in Recent Rain Disasters, Backed by Kong Ha Wai Village’s Transitional Housing Project

The Pok Oi Hospital Emergency Assistance Fund efficiently and promptly provides timely support to the public during desperate times, ensuring that applications for assistance in recent heavy rain disasters that occurred in early September are promptly approved. Additionally, Pok Oi Hospital’s wholly operated transitional housing project, the Kong Ha Wai Village, offers temporary accommodation to individuals in need.

Pok Oi Hospital promptly activated the Emergency Assistance Fund to provide aid to affected residents on September 8th, 2023. As committed, Pok Oi Hospital wholeheartedly supports the community, aligning with the mission of the Yuen Long District Office to maintain Hong Kong as a vibrant, caring, and harmonious community.

Case 1 ：

The number of residents affected by the heavy rain and flooding was significant. Among them, Ms. Kwok, an elderly lady living in a makeshift metal house, suffered the most severe damage. Her roof was nearly blown away, causing extensive furniture damage and requiring immediate roof repairs and furniture replacement. Subsequently, her family applied for assistance from Pok Oi Hospital’s Emergency Assistance Fund, providing timely aid to help Ms. Kwok restore her daily life as soon as possible.
