Background & Objectives

Hong Kong’s ageing population and the prevalence of chronic diseases and long-term illnesses pose challenges to the public healthcare system. To ease the burden and strengthen primary healthcare at the community level, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust initiated and funded the Jockey Club PHARM+ Community Medication Service Network (the “Project”) for a period of five years with approved funding of over HK$415 million.
In support to the Government’s Primary Care Initiatives to promote healthy lifestyles in the community and to cater for the growing needs of the public, Pok Oi Hospital was commissioned to operate the “Yuen Long District Health Centre” since 2022. This year, Pok Oi Hospital also participated in the Jockey Club Pharm+ Community Medication Service Network and set up the first community pharmacy in Yuen Long run by a non-profit organization. Pharmacists will provide medication dispensing, consultation and counselling services.

Our Services

Provide accessible and affordable medication dispensing service to the public, easing the financial burdens on patients in need of medication support;
Pharmacists will offer free medication management services and timely support to patients and their caregivers through the development of personalised health and medication management plans tailored to individual needs;
Provide advice on health and minor ailment management, offer guidance on the use of over-the-counter medications and make referrals to seek medical consultations as appropriate;
Promote health literacy on proper medication use and chronic disease management and raise awareness on public health.
