Chronic Illness Relief Fund (CIRF) introduction
Founded in 1919, the Pok Oi Hospital has been committed to serving the community with the mission of “We Love, We Care, We Serve”. Chronic Illness Relief Fund (CIRF) had been set up to provide financial support to people with chronic diseases facing financial hardship. The CIRF has 5 quotas each year, providing a maximum of HK$100,000 to each applicant in need for subsidizing their treatment, rehabilitation and medication fees.
Eligibility criteria
- Is a permanent Hong Kong resident over 18 years old
- Will continue to reside in Hong Kong during receipt of the financial assistance approved
- Is suffering from one or more chronic diseases and long-term treatment is needed
- Is not receiving financial assistance from other organizations
How to apply?
Social worker/medical social worker completes the application form and submits To Pok Oi Hospital with the certification of chronic illnesse(s) by Western or Chinese Medical Practitioners
Application procedures
- Submission of application form and supporting document through social worker/medical social worker
- Verification of application eligibility and information by Pok Oi Hospital
- Approval by Pok Oi Hospital Board and notify the applicant on the result
- Reimburse approved payments to successful applicant with proof of receipts
